BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
On November 27, 2017 City Council passed a resolution recommending Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) projects for the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Surface Transportation Program. The SL 337 Overpass at River Road project was awarded as part of the 2019-2022 TIP. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) requires a resolution by City Council to be incorporated into the agreement.
ISSUE:
Provide a system of convenient and safe transportation facilities through comprehensive, cooperative and continuing transportation system planning and development.
FISCAL IMPACT:
TxDOT is responsible for 100% of the costs of design and construction and 90% of the costs of right of way acquisition. The City is responsible for 10% of the cost of right of way acquisition and is outlined as a fixed cost of $14,869 in the joint participation agreement. There are sufficient roadway impact fees (Service area 3) available to support the city portion of this project.
