BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

This agenda item was requested by Board Member Sarah Hammond to promote spaying and neutering of pets as part of responsible dog and cat ownership. It could also serve to educate pet owners on the need to keep their pets secured on their property. There are examples of other cities within the state that have similar ordinances.
