BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Ethics Commission consists of seven members, all of whom must reside within the corporate limits of the city. Each member of the city council will appoint a member to the commission after taking office and that individual's term in office will run concurrent with the term of the city councilmember who made the appointment. Members of the commission may not hold or be a candidate for any city elected or appointed office at the time of their service on the commission.
ISSUE:
The Ethics Commission appointments are selected by City Council members once they are elected and have taken office.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.
