BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The City of New Braunfels has provided demand response public transportation services through AACOG / ART with the use of Federal Transit Administration funding which requires fifty percent local match since 2014. Comal County recognizes the benefit that Transit service provides to Comal County residents and has budgeted to contribute $70,000 to the City of New Braunfels to contribute towards the required match during that time. This agreement covers demand response for FY 2024.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The City's required contribution is $489,380. Comal County contributes $70,000 towards our required contribution; therefore, the net cost to the City of New Braunfels is $419,380. These expenditures are included in the FY2024 Budget.
Recommendation
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of an interlocal agreement with Comal County for a $70,000 contribution for demand response services.
